Leader Profiles

Are you dreaming of becoming a Leader?  Ok, maybe not but you may have given it a thought.

You looked at the Leaders and thought that they seem to be having so much fun.  Maybe you love camping and the outdoors.  You want to contribute to training your child to be a young, positive, strong person.  You want to establish a strong and lifelong bond with your child.  You want to spend quality time with your child.  If any of this rings true for you, joining the leadership team might be something for you.

Scout Leaders come from all walks of life, from parents of Scouts, to childhood Scouts, to people with no Scouting experience at all! This can be you.  Believe me, you aren’t the only adult who is busy with a full-time job.

Scouts Australia helps Leaders deliver on the commitment to provide varied, exciting and dynamic programs for their Scout Group.  They provide training and support in all aspects of Scouting, youth leadership, programming and safety.  The best training is on-the-job or ‘learn by doing’ as we say in Scouting.  This includes training and agreeing to current safe work policies, especially when around children.

“It’s so rewarding to know that I’m making a positive difference in the kids’ lives and helping them be their best.”

Leader roles vary through the Sections, as youth members take more responsibility for their activities as they progress in age.

The one thing we have to say is don’t be afraid.  If you are having leadership urges, the craving to contribute to lives of your child and, in doing so, the lives of their friends and their cohort, please let us know.  Speaking to our Group Leader Amanda is the first step.

The profiles of our current leaders will be listed below in the near future...
